BEST TIME
April/May and September/October are the months with moderate temperatures. This the Mediterranean and from June onwards the quicksilver can easily reach 40°C. You bike at height so you will catch a little wind but it's pretty hard to find shade to shelter.
CAMPING
Wild camping was not a struggle at all as the track winds long rural areas near forests or GR paths. I met friendly farmers who showed me the way to find a place to hide. Near mountain tops you can finds trekking huts.
SUPPLIES
There is drinkable water in every village and near GR tracks. You can easily find food supplies in village shops. Try the Pecorino cheer and local sausages. Be aware that these close from 14:00 till 17:00. Always have spare food and ca. 5 l water with you as the track sometimes offers surpirses.
