2021 - The Jordan Bike Trail is a mixed-surface gravelbike route that crosses the the beautiful Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Starting from the North in Aman and ending in the Southern port of Aqaba, it passes through an impressive variety of historical and natural wonders. The trail begins with dramatic canyons near the Dead Sea region; meanders through the remarkable landscapes of Dana, Petra, and Wadi Rum – before finally splashing into the Red Sea.

BEST TIME
In early spring and late autumn temperatures tend to be more moderate and rise upto 40°C. On a windless day you get really heated up on tarred roads, so alway carry plenty (ca. 5l) of water. In desert areas you better start cycling early in the morning at 5 AM.
CAMPING
It is generally allowed to camp in Jordan but avoid private property. Wild camping is not allowed in conservation areas such as Mujib and Dana Biosphere. In desert area's you can encounter Bedouin tents. Bivy tents a very suitable due to morning dawn and chilly nights.
SUPPLIES
Entering Jordan, get yourself a local SIM card at the airport. The trail regularly passes basic shops. You'll find few natural water sources along the road but locals will be happy to serve you tap water (purify it) or tea. Restaurants only in cities, kebab shop almost everywhere.
