2009 - After a 10 hour flight, we ended up at a small Havana square to acclimatize. Sweat is dripping along our skin when we leave for Matanzas. The whole trip is a history tale that brings Che Guevara in remembrance.Enjoy the lush vegetation, the scenic old timers, the Unesco villages and above all, the friendly but trader driven inhabitants.

HIGHLIGHTS ALONG THE TRIP

Havana - Matanzas - Playa Larga - Cienfuegos - Trinidad - Santa Clara - Colon - Cardenas - Varadero - Havana

BEST TIME

We organized our trip in may which was pretty comfortable for cycling. As climate is very humid, you welcome the coastal single tracks that offer you a gentle caribic breeze.

CAMPING

Not that easy to camp open air as every corner of this island is owned by somebody. But casa particular are a cheep alternative to spend the night and having a fine breakfast to start your cycling day. No need to book in advance...

SUPPLIES

Food and drinks ar everywhere. Although the range is rather basic, you will get around without any problem. Just always carry a few dollars more to solve occurring problems.
